Meet Thomas!
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Thomas has loved all things music since he was a kid. Encouraged by his mother, who was also a performer, Thomas pursued singing and theater throughout his youth and into college.

Thomas moved to Washington after high school to attend Pacific Lutheran University for his undergrad. Thomas was a part of the University Chorale his whole undergrad and was also a member of the all male choir, Knights Chorus, and the PLU Bell Choir. He took private voice lessons throughout his entire undergrad, where he studied both musical theater and classical opera under the direction of Dr. Glenn Guhr and Charles Stevens. Thomas has always been passionate about theater and arts in the school. His senior capstone project was presented on “The Importance of Continued Funding for Theater Programs in Public High Schools”.

Outside of music, Thomas loves to cook, spend time with friends, and wander around grocery stores. He enjoys taking breaks from the Washington rain to travel home to Hawaii to see his family as often as possible. His fiancee, Sarah, is a huge part of keeping Mori's Studio up and running; if you ever participate in a show or camp Thomas is involved in, you can expect custom baked treats for every prodcution.
More Than Just Performing
Thomas graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with degrees in music and theater. While in undergrad, he found a passion for working with students and teaching that encouraged him to pursue teaching music after college.

Since graduating, Thomas has music directed and taught classes with local youth theater productions, including the Lakewood Playhouse and Tacoma Musical Playhouse. Thomas is also an instructor for private voice, piano, and ukelele at Live Music Academy located in Federal Way, WA, as well as teaching choir with the Tacoma Area Home School Band.

Thomas's philosophy for teaching music is to foster a safe environment for students to explore their musicality and individuality. He encourages students to not fear in potential success or failure and to take every opportunity as a chance to learn, grow, and thrive.
